I'm Back, and Better than Ever

So, I made it. After 28 hours of driving I arrived Friday night at @ 9:30 PM. It's nice to be here again. I did end up going through PA (the low road) and only hit a little rush-hour traffice around Harrisburg, PA. Once I got out of the city a couple of exits everything eased up and it was business as usual for a while.

After PA I ended up in Orange County, NY; home of Orange County Choppers. I often thought those guys seemed familiar to me, and the upstate NY scenes reminded me of where I used to live there. No duh! It turns out that their from one town West of Newburg, NY and I lived two towns North of Newburg, NY. So, that was interesting.

Once I got into CT traffic got really bad. I think the roads were clogged with folks heading North to cooler climes. I was reminded of how the North Eastern states tended to have too many people for too few roads. Ugh. Oh well.

The nice thing though, driving in Boston is still a lot of fun. I'm lovin' it. I'm going all over the ol' stomping grounds. I'm thinking of becoming a cab driver for a little bit if I don't find a job right away. I talked to a cab driver for Bay State Taxi - where I used to work - and he told me things were a little different than what I remembered ... but that I should come back to work for them. I might even try my hand at dispatching again. That was a lot of fun. They do this weird thing though with two hour shifts at a time. Maybe I could do that and drive the rest of the shift. Who knows. Maybe I'll pick up some Saturday shifts and keep my day job during the week. That could be good for getting out of debt.

It's all possibilities.

For now, I'm working outdoors doing some gardenning and pruning with my Tai Chi teacher and really good friend Marie Favorito. It makes me a couple extra bucks and keeps me active ... something I've had too little of for the last 6 years.

Anyhow, time to jet off to sleep. I'll write more as things develop!
