So, I get a day off when the tides are right - I know this 'cause it's on the first page of the Globe everyday - and I decide to go fishing. I've wanted to go since I got back a week ago, and now's my chance. So, I got a 10' rod and some gear and I head out to a pier in Lynn, MA I used to go to when I was a kid. I figure I'll check it out and then get some sea worms and I'll catch some flounders. At least that was the plan.
So, I got up there and ... "where's the parking lot?" All I could see is a bunch of tall 6' grass and a couple of trails through them. I followed the trails out to the water and saw the pier ... and the trash ... and one guy out on the pier.
"This is weird," I said in surprise. So, I walked out to the pier and asked the old guy what happened to the fishing here. He said that there's no flounder and little of anything else off that pier. So, I asked him what he was doing there. He said he was just out for the fresh air.
So, I trudged back through the trash and resolved to find out what the heck happened to the flounder.
